More Brain Games

1.     Chess
Played recreationally and competitively for centuries now, Chess is a popular strategy board game played by two players on a checkered game board with 64 grids arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. This game enhances brain power through improved strategic thinking, decision making, ability to memorize and the ability to recognize patterns. Also, it enhances self-gratification, the basis for problem solving and creative thinking.

2.     Sudoku
Sudoku is a logic based game wherein the player is required to fill out  a 9 x9 grid with numbers in each column and row, and in each sub-grid without repeating the numbers from 1-9. It has been gaining its popularity in improving and maintaining cognitive function and has been played both competitively and recreationally  such as in newspapers. It enhances the individual’s decision making skills, critical thinking and strategy, and helps you maintain your focus and attention.   

3.     Rubik’s Cube
Also called as the Magic Cube, Rubik’s Cube is being played today by people of all ages. It has been considered as the world’s top selling puzzle game and the world’s best-selling toy and a lot of variations have already been made today. Rubik’s Cube aims to improve mastery, critical thinking, and strategy.

4.     Checkers
Also called draughts, Checkers is a popular strategy board game played by two players and involves diagonal moves and mandatory captures by jumping over the opponent’s pieces. This game improves critical thinking, decision making, and helps you boost your focus and attention.

5.     Crossword Puzzle
Crossword Puzzles have been so popular for ages now and have been imprinted on newspapers, magazines, and books as a recreational game as well as in improving our brain power. It doesn’t only improve our vocabulary but also enhances our working memory, processing speed, focus, and attention.


Moreover, a wide variety of online games aimed to increase brain power and critical thinking are now readily available. So if you are hesitant in trying some of the board games mentioned above, you may try these games available in the internet in a fast and easy way.
